Strawberry and Orange Smoothie

"This recipe (which I've slightly tweaked) comes from SMOOTHIES & JUICES, a 2006 cookbook (published in the UK) that my current cookbook swap partner sent me!"

  1. The orange flavor really came through in this. Next time I may cut back and add just enough juice to blend it. This make two very generous size helpings.

  2. Mmm.... Very good! I cut the recipe in half, but used a whole banana and was a bit heavy handed pouring the yogurt, so I probably ended up with a half cup or so extra of that. That made for plenty of smoothie for two people - and a very tasty one at that! It's perfectly refreshing and has just the right amount of sweetness, with the flavor from the orange juice cutting through but not overpowering the drink. I'll be making this one again!

  3. I enjoyed this for breakfast this morning. Another great smoothie recipe! I cut the recipe in half for one serving...and it was a very large serving :) Made for Zaar Stars.

  4. The best smoothie I've ever made! DH, whose comments are short at best, said, "this smoothie is good... REALLY good!!" It's creamy and well, smooth. My strawberries were frozen, and my measures were large, so I probably used almost four cups of them (I used the 1.5 cup measure in error) - but I'd do that again, definately. Also, I only had two single serve cups of strawberry yogurt, so probably used 1 cup of that along with the 1 cup of vanilla. YUMMO!!! Thanks for posting, Syd! Made for my adopted chef in July's Veggie Swap.

  5. Simply delish! Made for 1 and served 2 easily. I did use all plain Greek yogurt. A great start to any day or end to any day! Made for ZWT6 Thanks.

Tweaks

  1. YUM! This is absolutely terrific! I didn't have any bananas, so I used banana cream pie yogurt in place of the plain yogurt. I also scaled this down to 1 and for me it was the PERFECT size, filled my smoothie glass right up to the top leaving none left in the blender. I loved the light accent of the orange juice - a change on my normal yogurt & milk smoothie! Thanks so much for sharing this - I will make it a lot this summer! :)
