    Rose's Granddaughter's Note:

    Perfect for a picnic or BBQ or a very hot day. This looks like it would be a sweet salad - but it is in fact, PERFECT. We recently served this at a bridal shower and each guest demanded a copy of the recipe. The bride sent it out with her thank you notes.

    Ingredients:

    Serves: 4

    Yield:

    cups each

    Units: US | Metric

    SALAD

    • 6 cups bite-sized salad greens
    • 1/2 cup strawberry, sliced
    • 2 kiwi fruits, peeled and sliced
    • 1 cup alfafa mixed sprouts
    • 3/4 cup piece jicama

    DRESSING

    Directions:

    1. 1
      Toss salad ingredients together.
    2. 2
      In a tight and sealed container - shake the dressing ingredient well.
    3. 3
      Chill and pour over the salad right before serving.
    4. 4
      May like to add toasted pecans or slivered almonds.
    5. 5
      Don't over-do it on the fruit, or it will be too sweet.

      Enjoy!

      Very nice salad. I omitted the kiwi's since I didn't have any one hand. My men have all decided they like jicima!

      I've made this before. It's from Betty Crocker. It is really popular and I make it all the time for dinner parties. Very fancy salad but so easy to make.
