Strawberries and Cream Trifle - Lite Version

This is a light version of an old favorite. I found the recipe in "Lite and Tasty" magazine in 2003. It's still a favorite for my family, especially in the summer. It's also fairly easy and quick to prepare.

  1. In a bowl, whisk the milk and water together.
  2. Add pudding mix and whisk for 2 minutes.
  3. Fold in Cool Whip topping.
  4. Cut cake into 1/2 inch cubes.
  5. Spoon 1/3 of pudding mixture into bottom of a 4 qt.trifle or glass bowl.
  6. Top with half of the cake cubes.
  7. Top with half of the sliced strawberries.
  8. Repeat layers once.
  9. Top with remaining pudding mix.
  10. Garnish with whole strawberries. (optional).
