A Stove Top Stuffing recipe I clipped from the Ladies' Home Journal. Great for those nights you need to get something put together in a matter of minutes.

Ingredients Nutrition

  • 1 (6 ounce) package chicken stuffing mix
  • 1 cup hot water
  • 1 12 lbs boneless skinless chicken breasts, cut into 1-inch pieces
  • 1 (10 3/4 ounce) can condensed cream of chicken soup
  • 13 cup sour cream
  • 1 (16 ounce) bag frozen mixed vegetables, thawed, drained

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
  2. Prepare a 13x9-inch baking pan by spraying it with non-stick cooking spray.
  3. Sprinkle 1/2 cup of the dry stuffing mix evenly over bottom of the pan; set aside.
  4. In a small bowl, add hot water to remaining stuffing mix; stir just until moistened; set aside.
  5. Place chicken pieces over dry stuffing mix in baking pan.
  6. In a medium bowl, combine soup, sour cream and vegetables.
  7. Spoon over chicken.
  8. Top with the prepared stuffing.
  9. Bake 30 minutes or until chicken is cooked through.

This is one of our favorite recipes. I've been making this courtesty of the stove top stuffing box for several years now. I'm happy to see it on recipezaar. :)
