Great sauce. I made some changes to incorporate the ingredients I had so left out the shallot, subbed chilli flakes for the chilli oil, added two cubes of palm sugar and several drops of sesame oil. I used four TBS of flour in place of the cornstarch and ended up using over half a cup of water as I added a large can of tuna to my stir fry of onion, mushrooms, red pepper, asparagus, spinach and noodles. Will double the sauce ingredients next time (IOW 1 cup of water) as the tuna really soaks it up.

This is a very nice stir fry sauce. I had it tonight with tofu and broccoli. I didn't have chili oil and substituted garlic chili sauce

I used light soy sauce and 4 tps of flour since I had no corn starch. I also added a heaping Tbs of honey and probably about 1/4 cup or a bit less of OJ. Yummy!!! Oh and I used canola oil and a couple of dashes of red pepper (I had the ground pepper and not the specialty oil). Turned out wonderfully! Thanks for giving me a great jumping off point!

This is a very good stir fry sauce. Very nice blend of flavors. It was easy to make. I made this for ZWT 4 Asia, Add More Veggies Challenge. I made a stir fry of cabbage, broccoli, asparagus, mushrooms and onions. This sauce was really good on it. I will definitely be making this again. Thanks for sharing your recipe.

Made this to use in Teriyaki Asparagus (for the teriyaki sauce) and have leftover will use later for stir fry. I used red chili paste for the oil and arrowroot for the conrstarch. Tasted spicy when I tried some straight, but it wasn't spicy on the asparagus. Thanks.

Great basic stir fry sauce, very adaptable, and better that the store bought chemical stuff!

Exactly as billed, a great brown sauce for stir fries. The proportions are perfect although I misread the recipe and used a Tbsp of fresh ginger. I didn't find the ginger to be too much at all. I didn't have chili oil and substituted sesame oil and a pinch of red pepper flakes. I did add a pinch of sugar because I like a bit of sweetness. This was fabulous on a stir fry of chicken breast, onion, mushroom, red pepper, asparagus and radish. Thank you for a keeper!

I thought this was good but think I'll add a little splenda next time as I just like a touch of sweetness with anything asian. Thanks for a quick and tasty nofat way to add a LOT of flavor!

No fat and no sugar and lots of good flavor! I make stir frys often and this will be on a lot of them. I didn't find a single downside with this, it's a keeper
