Stir-Fried Pork in Hoisin Sauce

This simple and tasty stir-fry is from the Wild Ginger Restaurant in Seattle. We like to serve this over cooked soba noodles with some stir-fried vegetables on the side.

  1. For Sauce:.
  2. Stir all ingredients in a medium bowl until well blended.
  3. For Pork:.
  4. Stir pork and next 6 ingredients in small bowl until blended.
  5. Heat 1 1/2 tablespoons peanut oil in heavy large skillet.
  6. Add sauce; bring to simmer.
  7. Add pork; stir-fry 3 minutes.
  8. Add 2 tablespoons water and onions.
  9. Stir-fry until pork is cooked through, adding more water by tablespoonfuls to thin sauce if desired, about 1 minute.

This was great!
I didn't have any rice wine so I substituted sherry and added a little more sugar than called for (about 1 tablespoon extra).
Would you believe my corner grocery store was out of green onions?! I did up a seperate pan of broccoli, mushrooms and onions and added them to the pork when it was all done. I served it over brown rice and I ate every last speck from my plate!!!

wow is this good. Hoisin is a favorite flavor of mine, as is garlic. Terrific dish
