I like to dip mine in Italian dressing :)

Great recipe! I added garlic powder to the boiling water, and left out the lemon, since I think it overpowers the artichoke's taste. Thanks!

Simple and delicious. You can't get much better than that! I did leave out the oil. I enjoyed the dipping butter, too. Thanks!

This is a good recipe although next time I wont use the oil, it was messy. I usually make mine just with water but came here looking more for coking times and came across this recipe. I will go back to using just water with garlic but I did like the butter sauce. I usually eat mine with plain ol' mayo which is good but I thought I would try the butter, garlic, and lemon. It was good but not quite as much flavor as I am used to using the mayo, so I mixed the butter sauce into the mayo and YUM! I will be making the sauce that way again Im sure. Thank you for this recipe!!!

I've been eating artichokes this way for years (except I don't add the oil to the water -- I think it adds a strange texture to the leaves) - in my opinion this is the best way to steam them! I usually combine the lemon juice into the melted butter and then dip away. Thanks for posting!

I eat artichokes a lot but have never cooked them quite this way before. I steamed 2 very large chokes and they turned out perfectly tender. I did not like the oil in the water - it made the leaves slippery & transferred oil to my hands while eating (but it did make the leaves look nice & shiny). The lemon & butter dip was good (I just mixed both together). I chose this recipe for the ~My Three Chefs~ Cooking Event game. Thanks!
