Basic, simple refried black beans. The secret to this recipe is that the beans have to SIZZLE when you drop them in the skillet and is the key to bring out the flavor of the beans. You could add other things to your liking. I like mine on toasted tortillas just plain. You could always add a WONDERFUL salsa like mine and Marlene's. And sour cream... It's great with those pan fried tortillas with black pepper, garlic powder and a little salt! I use the no-stick cooking spray.
- Heat the oil in a skillet until hot.
- Spoon in the beans in spoonfuls and let them sizzle.
- Add the cumin.
- Let it sizzle.
- Turn down the heat.
