This recipe is amazing! I've made it several times and it has saved me from making trips to Starbucks. To make them even more amazing (yep, didn't think it was possible) I used pure Organic Tahitian Vanilla Extract (generously overflowing the spoon) and my secret to making the fudge: a sprinkle of instant espresso powder in the chocolate mix (1/4 -1/2 teaspoon), just like you would in brownies, coffee enhances the flavour of fudge!
Make sure you press the mixture firmly in the pan (I slightly greased it by rubbing the butter wrapper in the pan), and also when adding the remaining mixture on top of the fudge, I pressed it firmly in to little circles that touch each other on the ends, that way it stays flat and I don't run out. Once it completely cools, cut into small squares (2x2) and freeze them! They taste better the next day when they're completely cooled. ENJOY!
Amazing! I used to purchase them frequently at Starbucks, and now I can make them at home. It's surprising how the taste is exactly the same, even slightly better with the home version! It is true they are better when they are cooled, but even better when they are at room temperature! Thanks for the recipe!
I've never had these at Starbucks, so I can't compare, but these are quite good. A bit overly sweet for my tastes, definitely very rich. I'll definitely make again, but I'll remember to cut them small. Most of these will go in the freezer and be doled out in small portions.
Wonderful! This is the only treat I purchase at Starbucks, and I'm pretty certain I won't be going back there for a long time. The oat fudge bars taste even better the next day after it has cooled. The oat base is delectably chewy. I experienced some crumbling when cutting it but maybe that's just me. Definitely worth trying, and making again! Thank you for the recipe!
Absolutely amazing! I can't honestly compare them to the starbuck's versions, as I've never had them, but these bars were FANTASTIC. Followed everything according to instructions, though I came up a little short for the topping, so I covered the remaining space with some oatmeal mixed with brown sugar(they came out good in that corner too.) Definitely more rich when they first come out of the oven, and I ended up going through a large glass of milk for a 3" square. So yummy, will make again some time soon. Thanks for posting!
How come my oat base at the bottom turned out to be cakelike instead of dense and fudgy like starbucks?
Just one word. WOW!!! These are fantastic. Thanks for the recipe.
These bars are dangerous - they're so good! I will definitely be making these again. Thanks for sharing your recipe!
This recipe is VERY YUMMY! Very easy too make. I didn't think it was too sweet or not enough sweet. Perfect. I would however like more of the topping. Has anyone made it with extra topping?
One word, YUMMY!!!
