A buttery European classic. This recipe was originally found the Better Homes and Gardens "New Cook Book", I have modified it slightly for my family's tastes (more almond flavoring). These are my favorite holiday cookie - they are my standard for holiday cookie exchanges.

Ingredients Nutrition


  1. Beat butter 30 seconds.
  2. Add sugar and beat until fluffy.
  3. Add egg and extracts.
  4. Gradually add dry ingredients.
  5. Do not chill.
  6. Separate dough and color if desired.
  7. Force dough through cookie press.
  8. May also sprinkle with colored sugars before baking.
  9. Bake at 400 degrees.
  10. 7-8 minutes.
  11. Note: You can adjust the almond extract or use other flavorings to your taste.
