  1. This is still too high in sugar for a diabetic. I reduced the amount of powdered sugar to 3 tablespoons and found it sweet enough with the Splenda.

  2. thank you so much for sharing your recipe. Just what I was needing and looking for turned out great.

  3. This is great! I enjoy that it is lower-calorie but still full-flavored! I made it as written but without the maple flavoring. It has a nice texture, a little thick, but I like it like that... and I didn't have any problems with it coming off of the cupcakes. Thank you!

  4. I made powdered splenda by mixing splenda granular with cornstarch. I also only used 1/4 cup powdered sugar. Adding that small amount REALLY stops the funny after taste or bitterness you can get from Splenda. It makes ALL the difference! I did have a problem with the frosting pulling away from my spice cake after it was refrigerated...it would come off the top in one whole piece. For what it is, lower calorie and VERY low sugar, it is fabulous. Thanks for posting!

  5. This was SOOOOO good! Didn't use powdered sugar and couldn't tell a bit of difference. Added cocoa and more Splenda on a SF Chocolate Mocha Cake and it was to die for!

Tweaks

  1. I made this for a diabetic so I tweaked it a bit. I only used 3 tablespoons of powdered sugar. It was still a bit thick so I added a tablespoon of half and half. I also omitted the maple syrup. It turned out perfect!
