Spinach Salad With a Bit of a Kick

"Seems like most spinach salad recipes have a bit of a sweet twist to them. Couldn't find one without that so decided to create my own. This has been a family and friend favourite ever since. We often serve it with large garlic butter prawns or seasoned chicken breasts and an 8 grain baquette. Some people can't do the onion so I often leave that off and add a bit more radish for texture and flavour"

  1. I think this is a great spinach salad. It's colorful, plus it doesn't contain fruit or bacon, which makes it a bit different from other spinach salads. The dressing was nice. It was not to not at all. Just enough heat to give it character. I made the salad just as written. Thanx for sharing!

  2. I enjoyed that this was a bit different than the crowd of spinach salads and that it was low carb as well, making it a healthy choice. I found the amount of vinegar and Tabasco to be fine without being too tart or too hot. Thanks for sharing! ~Sue

  3. I enjoyed this Spinach salad tonight, with a few adaptations. I tested the dressing after I made it and decided it was a bit too tart for my liking, so I added 3 more shots of the Red Hot and 1/2 cup shredded parmesan and the onion and blended it. I still think it could have been a tad bit spicier for my liking. In addition to the salad ingredients listed I added 1 orange sectioned, garlic croutons, bacon and leftover Easter Eggs! Fabulous salad; I will definitely be using this recipe again!

  4. I love spinach salad, but this was a spicey salad. Not anything like the normal spinach salad. I would add some bacon and cooked eggs and cut back the hot spices. I liked the mozzarella and the radishes, hubby did also. I would also add the red onions with the rest of the dressing and then blend in a food processor or blender. Thanks for posting!!!
