I got this out of Bon Appetit in July 2003. Great make ahead drink for a party. Prep time does not include freezer time.
- 709.77 ml vodka
- 473.18 ml frozen lemonade concentrate, unthawed
- 1892.72 ml ice cubes
- fresh mint sprig, for garnish
- Combine 1 1/2 cups vodka, 1 cup lemonade concentrate, and 4 cups ice cubes in blender. Blend to just smooth but still slushy consistency. Pour into large pitcher. Repeat with remaining vodka, lemonade and ice. Add to same pitcher. (Can be made 5 hours ahead. Cover and freeze.).
- Whisk lemonade gently (do not blend again). Pour into 8 tall glasses; garnish with mint and serve.
I really am a fan of the pre-frozen drink recipes. This is just one more to have on hand for those hot nights when a frozen drink is just what you're looking for (without all the fuss). After having a frozen spiked lemonade at a resort I knew I needed to recreate it at home. Thanks for posting it! Tart and refreshing. I store mine in a large ziploc bag and usually add 1/2 frozen drink, 1/2 water to my glass...
I love vodka and lemonade, so this one was a natural for me. Enjoyed the frozen aspect....great for a summer day. Made for Bargain Basement Tag!
