    I loved when my mom made these fun no-bake cookies. They are really easy to make and have a very unique appearance. Great for Halloween/insect themes because they look like spiders! (Tip - My mom recommends China Lily brand noodles.)

    Ingredients:

    • 1 (300 g) package chocolate chips
    • 1 (300 g) package butterscotch chips
    • 2 (4 ounce) cans chow mein noodles
    • 1 cup peanuts

    Directions:

      In saucepan over medium heat melt the chocolate chips and butterscotch chips.
    2. 2
      Remove from heat and add chow mien noodles, turning over until all coated.
    3. 3
      Add peanuts and turn over until all coated.
    4. 4
      Drop in tablespoon sized heaps on wax paper lined cookie tray.
    5. 5
      Refrigerate until hardened (overnight is best).

      This is a recipe my family has also made for years around the Holidays (Christmas too). We didn't always use the peanuts and they were still good. We always called them spider cookies (think of all of those legs). Yum! These would be easy to scoop using a cookie scoop.

      I made this for a themed party we had (horror/creepy things). I substituted Peanut Butter for the butterscotch chips as I don't think you can get them in Australia. The hardest part was keeping the house-mates out of the fridge so that there were some left for the party!

      The other name for this cookie (and many recipes on the wesite, I believe) is Ting A Lings. We have made these since we were little kids. I've only recently discovered that butterscotch chips have trans fat in them, so trying to find ones that don't! We make these every year for Christmas. Very easy to make - no bake. The only difference in my recipe is that it also has a 1 oz square of baking choc. melted in also.
