I'm curious why this recipe is listed as HCG/Phase 2 acceptable. HCG diet allows only 500 calories A DAY and low carb and sugar intake. This recipe logs in at 705 calories, 98 grams carbs and 60 grams of sugar. This would blow the daily intake if you are using HCG Phase 2 protocol. THIS IS NOT EVEN CLOSE TO HCG PROTOCOL. Please understand you HCG plan before trying this recipe. Looks great but not HCG.
I don't understand what Kathleen McMurry is talking about.. This recipe comes up to less than 300 calories, 12g carbs, and 2.2g sugar. Am I calculating wrongly? Or was she, maybe, including the Melba toast and fruit? I still don't see how it could get up to 700 calories! ?
I made this for dinner last night and it was a big hit! Lots of flavor and I was full! I really didnt feel like I were on a D-I-E-T!! :D
This was very good. When I first gave my husband his plate he looked at me like " I am going to starve on this diet aren't I" LOL. But once he tried it he loved it too!
I make something like this called Laab, Thai Spicy Beef Salad. I am hooked on it and about the only difference is some onion and chili garlic paste in the meat and some fresh mint added with the cilantro and served in lettuce as the wrap. I love this recipe.
What a delicious little recipe...I made as posted with the exception of using low-sodium soy sauce in place of Braggs...this is a great base to work with...you can replace the celery with onion...add in some chopped jalapeno's or like me...I ate two wraps as posted and the last two I threw in some pepper flakes for added heat and spice. Yum! I really liked the idea of cooking the lean meat in the liquid...it prevented the meat from sticking to the pan. :) Thanks for posting...made for Fall PAC 2011
I'm going to try this tonight and I just can't wait! Thanks for sharing your HCG recipes with the rest of us :)
