My husband really loved this! I thought it was pretty good. Might use a better cut of meat next time as it was not quite as tender as I would like. Still a wonderful recipe I will make again. Funny about smoking the paprika! :)
Semra22, All I can say is AWESOME, M M GOOD! What a great marinade! I did have may doubts bc I tasted the marinade after I put it in the food processer and thought yuck. I am soooooooooooooooo glad I went on and made these kabobs. DH and DS devoured them. This was such an easy arinade to pull together. I let them marimade for 6 hours and then let red peppers and mushrooms (did not care for the mushrooms) go for 15 minustes. I grilled them. I will make these again!
I don't really know what cut of meat we used but it worked well, tasted yummy and smelled great as it grilled!
I made this for my teenagers tonight, they loved evry bite and want me to fix again! What more can I say?
Wow! Those old Ottomans really knew how to cook ;-) The tumeric mixed with the smoky paprika creates a surprising flavor. Very un-Turkish I know but I marinated onion & poblano pepper chunks with the meat then skewered those seperately & served as a side. DH, the forgetful cook, put them on the grill & I took them off 10 minutes later so they never got turned. Regardless of this abuse, the sirloin was tender, juicy & cooked a tad over medium just the way I like it. Next time, I'll simmer an extra batch of marinade to use as a dipping sauce. Excellent recipe! If I could rate this higher I would. The marinade is delicious and the kabobs turn out very tender and very flavorful. I marinated longer than 4 hours - just how it worked out and they were so good! The smoked paprika really adds a lot to this dish. Worth using if you can find it! Thanks for sharing this recipe.
