I have never had a filet mignon I did not like. This was good, but not my favorite preparation. Next time perhaps I will try it grilled like one of the other reviewers who rated this recipe outstanding -- that could be the differences. I liked the mixture of spices, and the onion topping.

I thought it was fantastic. Although I grilled it rather than pan frying (just couldn't do that to an expensive cut of meat!). The spices worked well together. I wouldn't change a thing.

Perfect cooking instructions! My husband couldn't believe I wasn't going to grill these. I wanted to follow directions as written and they turned out perfect, pink on the inside and juicy. The grilled onions were fantastic on it as well. The only change I would make my next time making this is to drasticly reduce, or leave out the cumin. It was just too strong in the spice mix. It overpowered all the others. I didn't enjoy the taste of cunin on steak either. I did feel a tiny bit of heat from the red pepper and if some like it spicier, add more! Again, a great steak from this recipe. Pam :-)
