This was my first time ever making pulled pork in the crock pot and it was EXCELLENT! Everyone loved it. We served it with Hawaiian rolls. I will definitely be making it again.
Ok Bucky, I stood by ya with getting this posted and then realized I HAD to try it once you got it on zaar :) I have never made anything like this (ya know I am the Canadian girl transplanted to NC) this is FABULOUS!!! Super easy to make. I had to sacrifice my lowfat way of life for one day. I love that it could be done in the crockpot too. I made no changes (nor would I have) oh heavens !! another time I wish we had 10 stars !!! A KEEPER!! If this is your first zaar recipe your off to a great start :)
Being from eastern Carolina, this is by far my favorie slow cooker bbq recipe I have come across. When I am sans smoker, this is the recipe I use for that carolina pulled pork taste. Also, this recipe has great basics down, but tons of slight variations are possible. For example, i add some liquid smoke to the pork. Thanks for sharing!!
Excellent cook all day with minimal effort dinner! I toned down the spiciness for the kid's sake and left out the crushed red pepper flakes & it was perfectly spiced for their tastes. I always use apple cider vinegar when making Carolina pork, and did the same this time (that's also what I had on hand). Thanks for sharing, made me so hungry for it, smelling it cook all day! Served with homemade mac 'n cheese & sautéed spinach.
THEEE Best pulled pork I have ever had!! This was no ordinary bbq... my tast buds did a dance of their own! I pre roasted a pork loin for mine.... shredded it and then added the rest. This recipe is printed and added to my girls cook book for easy tasty cookin. I did note for her she may only need 1/2 to 3/4 cup vinegar. DELICIOUS!!!
Yum. This is a great recipe. I made 2.5lbs of pork for two people. I made the normal amount of NC style sauce. We each had two sandwiches, and had plenty of pork left over.
I'd been searching for a vinager based pulled pork and this was what I was looking for! It was a great balance of flavours. I did use a 3.5lb pork rib roast, 1 tbsp hot hungarian paprika (1 tbsp reg. paprika) and cut the pepper flakes down to one tsp. It was the perfect about of spice for us. Thank you for posting
I've made this twice now, and it's turned out awesome both times. I halved the recipe and used a big chunk of pork loin instead of shoulder. Tastes perfect w/ bbq sauce right out of the crock pot, and the leftovers made great taco filling the next day.
I've got this in the crock pot right now. This is the fourth or fifth time I've made this in the last year. Absolutely the best pulled pork I have ever had. I serve this with the Carolina Red sauce and cole slaw that I encourage others to try right on the sandwich. Heaven on a corn-dusted kaiser. To the guy who used pork loin...."uhhhhh...huh?"
Absolutley delicious!!!! Very tender. Used a pork tenderloin instead of pork shoulder, eight hours in the crock pot is perfect!!! Will make this again.
