My non-veg husband took seconds, that ranks this recipe an automatic 5 star recipe. I only had panko and ended up doubling the breadcrumbs, also had to sub pickled jalapenos as there were no fresh ones around - even so, seconds! I topped these with homeade teriyaki sauce and served them over brown rice with bok choy. I expect this will be a versitle recipe and look forward to having it again.
Made this for a potluck and got a lot of compliments. It was a really easy and tasty vegetarian recipe... but I did take some artistic license:
I added cumin and hamburger seasoning to the mixture, used a little more onion than what it called for, & no jalepenos. I forgot to add salt so I topped them with sharp cheddar cheese and italian seasoning.
I really liked these. They were simple to make and tasted great, except they were really salty. I only added a little and that was too much. I added a pinch of cumin, and oregano also needed to add more breadcrumbs. Thanks for sharing the recipe, I'll be making them again.
