  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  2. Grease and flour a 13"X9" pan.
  3. Cream together margarine and sugar.
  4. Beat in the egg.
  5. Stir in banana.
  6. Stir in the milk.
  7. Combine flour, baking powder, salt, baking soda, cinnamon, allspice, and nuts (if using).
  8. Stir into creamed mixture.
  9. Spread in the pan.
  10. Bake 20-25 minutes at 350F.
  11. until golden brown.
  12. Frosting: Melt margarine.
  13. Stir in icing sugar and lemon juice.
  14. Stir in water, 1 tsp.
  15. at a time, to get a good spreading consistency.
  16. Spread over warm bars.
  17. Cool completely.
  18. Cut into bars.

quick, easy, and makes very light bars, loved the easy frosting too!

These were really good! They made a nice, light snack. They were rather thin though, so use a smaller pan.

I used wholewheat flour and didn't ice them. They were like a pan version of banana bread which is excellent if you don't have enough bananas to make a whole loaf.
