ingredients

• 8 medium pears, about 2 pounds
• 2 cups water
• 1 1⁄2 cups sugar
• 6 pieces cloves
• 6 pieces allspice

directions

1. In a saucepan, combine the pears, water, and sugar and spices.
2. cook and stir occasionally over medium heat for about 15-20 minutes or until pears are soft.
3. chill in refrigerator until completely cold.
4. puree through a sieve, blender or food processer.
5. process in ice cream machine according to manufacturers instructions.
