Directions

  1. Sift flour with salt, baking powder, ginger and nutmeg.
  2. Stir into oatmeal and set aside.
  3. Cream shortening with sugar on medium speed, 2 to 3 minutes.
  4. Beat in eggs.
  5. Add flour mixture alternately with milk.
  6. Stir in raisins and nuts.
  7. Drop from teaspoon onto lightly greased baking sheets.
  8. Top each with 1 raisin, if desired.
  9. Bake at 375 degrees until golden brown, 10 to 12 minutes.
