      We had a big Christmas party a couple of days ago and I served this recipe. The only alteration I made was to grate some nutmeg into it rather than using whole, because the store was out of whole nutmegs, but it still turned out just fine. I threw it into the crockpot when I got up in the morning and people started drinking it in the early evening. It was a huge hit! We were afraid we were going to have to send someone out for more cider, but one gallon turned out to be just exactly right for fifteen party guests. And I loved it because since it's a crock pot recipe it was one less thing to worry about while running around frantically trying to get everything else together!
