Spiced Anise Tea

This is one of the many recipes I came up with on my own while experimenting with my various tea herbs. As you can probably guess, due to the anise and the fennel, the flavor will remind you a lot of licorice. If you like that flavor then you'll surely enjoy this blend. Anyway, it's good hot or chilled. Note: I've listed things in teaspoons because this website won't let me list it in parts, but it's technically in a ratio, so you can make whatever quantity you want.

This is a lovely and refreshing tea and smells absolutely divine as it steeps. I think I'll try reducing the cloves and cinnamon slightly to get more of the fennel and anise flavour next time. Thanks for another lovely tea recipe that I know I'll enjoy again and again. Made and enjoyed for PAC Spring 2011 :)

Ingredients Nutrition

  1. Cut the vanilla bean into small pieces first.
  2. Assemble all the ingredients and place in a tea ball. Note: If you don't own a tea ball, then you can put the ingredients directly in the water and then strain out later.
  3. Place tea ball in hot water and steep for 10 minutes.
