I love Amaretto or other liqueurs for dessert. This could go either way, before or after dinner. I usually don't like the taste of most hard liquors, but the spiced rum with the amaretto was incredibly delicious! The addition of club soda makes it a nice before dinner drink, and, alternatively, the cream makes it a luscious dessert drink. (And I admit to using fat free half and half and it was great.) Thanks to Boomette's Disacolada for the inspiration!

Ingredients Nutrition

  • 2 ounces spiced rum (I liked Captain Morgan's Tattoo the best-dark, rich and spicy)
  • 2 ounces Amaretto
  • 2 ounces club soda or 2 ounces cream

  1. Mix amaretto and rum well.
  2. Pour over ice.
  3. Add either soda or cream and stir gently.
  4. Enjoy.

Mmmmmmm, yumm. I cut the whole drink half and served it in a shot glass. 3 ounces of smoothness! I loved the spice and the warmth of the amaretto. My first inclination was to go with the club soda but I don't have any in the house and didn't want to go out and buy a bottle for 1 ounce. I used fat free coffee creamer and it worked perfectly with this combo. This will be very easy to love in the summer with ice or lightly warmed in the winter by the fire. Thanks Dee :D.

I love rum and I like amaretto. First I tried it with club soda. Then I added half and half cream. It had a good taste. But it's not my favorite. Sorry. Thanks for posting. Made for 123 hit wonders.
