This is a perfect spice mix for us!! I'm so glad I tried it. I just added a little salt to each chicken breast and only used 2 tsp smoked paprika. Delicious! Will use over and over. Made to honor Pets'R'us.
Very reminiscent of a cajun or blackening seasoning, to my mind and tastebuds. We just loved the heat, and the depth of flavor imparted to the pork chops I rubbed this on. I reduced the recipe by half, and have enough for a couple more uses leftover, after the 4 chops! I also used my GF grill as it is 100F outside, and the meat got a nice 'crust' without any added fat. I will use this in some of the ways suggested, also. Keeper of a recipe, for me. Made to honor and remember Pets'R'Us.
I made this on 5/11 for the " Pets 'R' us Cook-A-Thon. It was used on a couple of boneless, skinless chicken breasts which I broiled. As for the salt, I just spinkled some on the chicken before adding the spice mix. My SO and I both enjoyed the taste very much. Thanks for posting and " Keep Smiling :) "
Excellent spice mix, I used it on a pork tenderloin and it turned out delicious with a nice bit of heat. i roasted the tenderloin as I would normally for about 30 minutes. Lovely flavourful dinner! Thanks for posting I will be using it regularly!!
This blend is SO good! I used the 8 t. of salt, and used only 1 t. of cayenne as some of my family are wimps. I used it on chicken leg quarters that we grilled. Early int he morning I lightly drizzled the legs with olive oil and then generously sprinkled the spice mix. The flavor was amazing! I cannot wait to try this one pork as well.
This is also great on chicken. I tried it with the mild smoked paprika. This is also great to store for future use. Will use in the future. Made for 1-2-3 hit wonders.
Heh heh heh. Guess what? This is absolutely fabulous on flank steak!! A very nice blend of flavors - nothing overpowering. I did use 1tsp salt & it wasn't 'salty,' it was just right. I was worried the smoked paprika would be overpowering but it wasn't. A great all around spice mix to have! Thanks, Pets! Made for PAC Fall '08.
