There seem to be as many variations on garam masala as there are cooks! And I like to try different ones out. This one is quite good. I had to sub the equivalent of ground coriander for the seed, as I only had the ground. Made for Spring 2012 Pick a Chef game.

The aroma from this was fab...I toasted all but the cinnamon in a dry frypan then ground up all the ingredients in a coffee grinder. I used the seeds from 3 cardamon pods.
