Nice try, but this doesn't fly. German fanta and American fanta are completely different beverages. German fanta is basically carbonated orange juice while American fanta is disgusting cheeto-colored fizz. German orange soda is difficult to find in the US so I was hoping this recipe would have a work around... Obviously, I was wrong. This is not spezi. This is kind of gross.

Fab, refreshing concoction, and far less cloying than cola on its own. Try a sliced kiwi instead of the lemon for a slightly different variation. I'm also mulling over the addition of a splash of vodka lol... One thing I've not figured out though, is that when presented abroad it comes out as a 'layered' drink, which is nicely visually dramatic - my young son particularly appreciates it! I've thus far failed to recreate this at home... any thoughts? :-/ ¯_(?)_/¯

I wish I could go back in time to the moment the camp councler gave me a 'look' when I asked for half coke half orange...I had no idea this was something 'real.'

Fun and tasty drink! Made as directed and served cold but without ice as you suggested. I used diet coke and orange soda with good results. Different and refreshing - thanks for sharing the recipe!

I love this drink. Whenever I am at a self-serve soda station, I make my own by mixing the orange soda and the coke and adding a lemon wedge. I've made a fan from several of my friends.
