So delicious! Quick, easy, and inexpensive. Highly recommend the suggestion of the cooking 15 minutes instead of the whole 20 minutes. I put a full cup of peanut butter plus maybe a little more ;) we love peanut butter and some comments mentioned it wasn't quite peanut buttery enough. It was perfect for us. I made some chocolate pudding and made a parfait type thing with pudding on the bottom, then a slice of speedy little devil, with a scoop of ice cream on top. whoooooeeeee, very rich. very yummy.
I've been making these for at least 15 years. A favorite of both my sons when they were off to college, as well as all their friends who shared in the care packages sent from home. I use 1 stick of margarine plus 2 tablespoons just so the crust holds together better. I also use 3/4 cup of peanut butter and only bake for 15 minutes. Like everyone else mentioned, its very important not to over bake.
These are really yummy. It would be nice to find a way to make the crust less crumbly.
A friend of mine makes these and they are great. She accidentally overbaked last night's batch, but they still tasted fine, they were just crunchy... and they were even better dunked in milk!
how can something so easy and simple be this delicious, I bet this would be great using a yellow cake mix also, these are absolutely outstanding and I can't wait to make them again, what a wonderful easy treat, thank you for sharing this great recipes Coffee!
These are super easy to make and sooooo good. They disappear fast too!
Love love love this--I got this recipe from my grandmas and it's always been one of my favorites! So easy to do and really yum. :)
Word to the wise: This is not a sneak-a-bite-out-of-the-pan-while-they're-still-hot kind of recipe. Once I was patient enough to let them cool completely, they were much less crumbly!
Fantastic! Simple to make, rich and delicious. The 20 minute cook time was perfect for mine - the filling was soft but not too gooey and the crust was firm. Everyone loved these tasty treats - thanks for posting the recipe!
Well I was not speedy in making these since I was overdue on a tag in Zaar Cookbook Tag but I'll tell you next time I won't take so long to make them! These are rich and decadent for something that is so simple to throw together. I just dolloped the cream and PB and it did spread out pretty well on its own. I liked the blend of flavors and that one was not overpowering the other. Thanks CB for another PB winner in my cookbook!
