  • Mix the oats, cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, salt, raisins and water in a microwave-safe bowl.
  • Microwave on high for 1-1.25 minutes, stirring every 15-30 seconds until the oatmeal has reached the desired consistency.
  • Stir in the brown sugar, walnuts and a few drops of milk, serve warm.

  1. Just like gingerbread! I slow cooked this on the stove and increased the servings by 75% to serve four. I also drizzled some molasses on top and then sprinkled a little ground cloves over it while it cooked. I added Cool Whip to it when I served it to my kids to cool off. It was great! Like eating a big bowl of Gingerbread cookies. Tastes like Christmastime!
     
  2. Worked as written, but overwhelmingly spiced. If I try it again, I'll have to decrease all the spices. Seemed like too much water, but after 90 seconds, it was okay.
     
  3. I'm sorry, this one just didn't rock my world. I used instant whole grain oats, but did everything else exactly by the measure....and it tasted gritty, the spices didn't really meld together, etc. It sounded great when I read it, and I really wanted to love this--but I didn't. It went uneaten after a couple of bites.
