I got this recipe from my school lunch calendar...in Feb 1963, Sunnyvale CA. So easy a 2nd grader could make it! I bet this one's been around the block a LONG time -- and it's still kid friendly for my grandkids.
These are more like a candy than a cookie, but I'm not complaining! Super-simple to make, nothing too fancy, but they set up kind of like peanut butter fudge balls with crunch. I'm betting these would be really good with some mini M&M's or some Reese's Pieces mixed in too. I could see these being a great sleepover treat if you have preteens or teenagers (older kids could probably make these themselves, after a bit of instruction on handling the hot sugar mixture).
