So easy to prepare! I made the meatballs using the oven option. I did use premium mince and baked them on a wire rack over an oven tray, which drained off a lot of fat. But they did taste great and it worked very well. One tip is when rolling the meatbalss, that wetting your hands makes the job of rolling a lot easier! The sauce is wonderful and also so very quick and easy..... although, I did add some tomato paste to the sauce! A great and easy dish to prepare and very tasty. The family all enjoyed this recipe Pat. Topped with Parmesan Cheese and served with crusty garlic bread this made for a great quick easy and inexpensive meal.

An easy family sized recipe that uses simple ingredients and is quick to prepare and cook. I used 1 kilogram of the low-fat quality beef mince, a really large onion and 2 cans of diced Italian style tomatoes. I added garlic to the meatballs and the sauce. A winner recipe for my family, served with spaghetti (didn't measure the amount cooked) and grated parmesan. Made six serves for us. This recipe is gluten-free suitable if served with gf pasta. Nice that the meatballs had no bread or breadcrumbs- though for this reason suggesting that small meatballs be made. 5 stars from my family -thanks for another great recipe Pat. After reading the other reviews, it would seem that our Aussie canned diced tomatoes are thicker than in the US. Photo also to be posted

This was a very quick and easy spaghetti dish!! I finely chopped the onion and added 1/2 of it to the meatball mixture for added flavor and moisture. I then fried them, once they were browned I pushed them to the sides of the pan and added the rest of the onion along with a bit more oil, in the directions it said to "saute the onions and garlic" but there wasn't any garlic listed in the ingredients, so I added a teaspoon minced garlic. I then added the tomatoes and let it simmer for a bit and then tasted it, at this point this was still to watery and thin for our tastes and needed spiced up. I then added a small can tomato paste and some oregano and basil. This worked perfectly with our spaghetti!! Thanks for sharing the recipe. Made for your win in the Games Summer Spectacular!!

There is nothing like a great recipe of spaghetti & meatballs to bring the ol' homestead to it's knees. A very simple, but very tasty dish of goodness right here. I followed this exactly using chopped fresh parsley, and diced fresh tomatoes. As suggested~ I baked my meatballs for 20 minutes and them gently put them in the sauce to cook another 30 minutes. Served with Mixed Greens With Pears and Raspberries and Go-Go Garlic Bread. A very special taste and so yummy! Made for Flower Power June 2009.
