This was my first attempt at homemade (at least not from a jar!) spaghetti sauce, and it turned out very nice and made quite a bit! I used only 1/2 lb beef and supplemented with finely diced zucchini and extra onion to make up for the missing bulk. I also used a 28-oz can of tomatoes and 1/2 can hatch green chiles instead of Rotel. I wasn't sure if I should drain the tomatoes or not so I didn't; next time I probably will. OH, and I threw the whole thing in the crock pot for about 4 hours on high, which worked out fine. Next time I will probably stir in some cheese at the end of cooking to take the edge off the tomato-yness, but otherwise I have no complaints. Thanks so much for posting. Made for PRMR.

Although I usually make meatballs separate from the sauce (then freeze a lot of it) I decided to make this up as a change of pace! The only change I made was to leave out the mushrooms, & still we had A GREAT TASTING SAUCE ~ VERY, VERY NICE! Froze most of it but kept enough out for a very satisfying lunch! Thanks for a great recipe! [Tagged, made & reviewed in Please Review My Recipe]

Very good spaghetti sauce, thank you Nimz! I used ground round, garlic pepper seasoning, white wine, and only about 1/3 of a cup of rotel. After cooking for 2 hours the sauce was thick enough for us and smelled wonderful. DH went back for seconds and cant wait to have the leftovers for lunch. Made and reviewed for Went to the Market tag game.

When I made this I left out the mushrooms and used red wine instead of white wine since I had an open bottle of red. The sauce was served with whole wheat pasta. It was delicious! DH and I both loved it.

This sauce is delicious. Since I couldn't find rotel tomatoes and I didn't know it was tomatoes with chilies, I used a can of cherry tomatoes LOL I used red wine. I added more mushrooms, dried parsley. I used Mrs. Dash seasoning instead of garlic salt and salt. Thanks Nimz :) Made for Zaar Star game.

Very good, thick and meaty sauce. The spices are right on! I added red wine instead of white. Easy to put together. I didn't have any Rotel, so I used a larger can of tomatoes and a small can of diced green chiles. Would definitely make again!

This sauce was fantastic! I did not have mushrooms so I left them out and used red wine instead of white because thats what I had. I also used fresh Oregano and Basil from my garden. This made alot so I will use the sauce to make Lasagna. A very flavorful sauce! Thanks for sharing!

Delicious rich, thick pasta sauce. Used red wine, fresh mushrooms, and garden tomatoes from the freezer. Perfect to use in any Italian dish that calls for spaghetti sauce. Great over ravioli!

Delicious and just the right thickness for serving with spaghetti. Slightly spicy sauce which DH loved. I made as directed with regular Rotel, but mild or hot could be used depending on personal preference. I'll make this one again. Thanks so much for sharing the recipe!

This spaghetti sauce was FANTASTIC! I followed the recipe to a tee but I didn't have any oregeno. Instead I used my FRESH rosemary from my herb garden (thanks to Latchy's suggestion in the chat room). I used my fresh parsely, too. I took this dish over for my Mom's "early" birthday party. Everybody loved it. I used freshly grated parmesan cheese, too. Thanks NimrodCook!

This is a great spaghetti Sauce, very similar to what I usually do, except for garlic salt which I added. I could not find rotel tomatoes, so chopped a jalepeno up in the sauce. I actually cooked this for 2 hours, then 1/2 hour without the lid, it turned out to be really rich and thick, just how we like it.
