I followed Shimmerchk lead with the ingredients for this, as I try to cut corners and eat healthy when I can. This is comforting and delicious! I thought the spices were a nice addition and gave a great flavor to the sauce. This took a little time to make but it was worth every minute, because it's a great casserole to have anytime!

I've been making this for almost a year now and I keep forgetting to rate it-this is sooooo good. I've made it for several get togethers and a couple of holidays and it's always the best dish!! It also makes a lot of spaghetti so it's perfect for a crowd. I always buy the block cheese and grate it myself-I think things taste better that way. It's truly the best spaghetti I've ever had!!! Thanks for sharing!!

This is definitely THE BEST baked spaghetti I've ever had, and is a permanent addition to our family cookbook. It's wonderful as-is, but it's proven to be a very adaptable recipe. It freezes well, and tastes even better warmed over. I've experimented with suggestions from other reviewers - more meat and adding mushrooms - still great. Made it once with store-bought frozen meatballs, crumbled up - still great. Tried the South Beach version (see other reviews) - still great. Also freezes well - great to make ahead for church functions, potlucks, etc. From frozen, takes a while to bake - I think it's about 1 hour 15 or 30 minutes...can't remember exactly, but it's about the same cooking time as frozen store-bought lasagna.

I originally had spaghetti casserole at a school function, and was looking for a recipe for home. This was even better than the one I had at school! My family really liked this, and the leftovers were great too. I added 1/2 lb. hamburger, as my famiy likes their sauce really meaty, and added mushrooms as well. When I put it together, there wasn't enough room in the pan, so ended up with two pans. I will definitely make this again.

This was great! Comforting, filling, tasty and simple to make even though it is a little time consuming. We used whole wheat spaghetti noodles, splenda for the sugar, and 2% cheddar and jack cheese as well as part skim mozzarella cheese. We used extra lean ground turkey for the ground beef and this made a South beach friendly and thoroughly delicious meal. I know we will make this often! Thanks!
