A wonderful from scratch recipe that has been in my family for generations.

  1. Heat oil and brown the ground beef. Once beef is browned add chopped onion, green pepper and garlic. Saute until soft. Add all the remianing ingredients, cover and simmer for 2 hours. If sauce gets too thick add a little more water to thin it out.

I love this recipe. It's nice and thick and has a great flavor. I usually double the recipe and add a pound of ground Italian sausage instead of a second pound of ground beef.
