I am constantly getting Pork Fried Rice for lunch at one of the Chinese restaurants near work and one day I asked what they marinated their pork in. This is a recipe I found that had all the ingredients. It makes the pork fabulously sweet.

Ingredients Nutrition

Directions

  1. Rub pork strips with 1 tsp salt and 2 tsp sugar, let stand 30 minutes.
  2. Crush garlic and mince scallion, combine with soy sauce sherry and 1 Tbls honey.
  3. Add to pork strips and let stand 30 minutes more, turning frequently.
  4. Drain, discarding marinade.
  5. Combine remaining honey and sugar, brush over meat and roast.

This was very flavorable, though we didn't find it sweet, the amt. of honey/sugar in the final step probably wasn't enough for the amount of meat that I stir fried. Would use low sodium soy sauce next time, we found it quite salty.

I used this marinade with pork loin chops that I sliced for stir fry. Because I stir fried the meat, I omitted the final glaze step. I put the pork in Ramen Fried "rice" http://www.recipezaar.com/34716. The meat was delicious and I will definitely use this marinade again. Thanks Erin!
