I'm not really sure where I got this recipe. It's written in my handwriting on a 3x5 card that's stained with soy sauce. This makes a good marinade for beef or pork.
- 1⁄2 cup soy sauce
- 1⁄2 cup water
- 2 tablespoons oil
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar, packed
- 1 garlic clove, minced
- 1⁄4 teaspoon red pepper
- Mix all ingredients well.
- Pour over beef or pork and marinate 8 hours or overnight.
- Grill or broil meat.
- Leftover marinade should be discarded.
The best marinade for a london broil on the grill. Marinated overnight and use a jicardi to tenderize. I am so happy you posted the receipt I've been using for years. Thanks.
Quick and easy and you've always got these items on hand. I made half the batch and then used it with 1 package of medium tofu, marinated for a few hours and then baked, still in the marinade. Worked out beautifully. If you're worried about the amount of sodium, you could cut back the soy a bit and it would still taste great. Made for 'I Recommend' tag.
I used to make this marinade when I was still living with parents before marriage. Would use venison steaks and feed them to DH(then boy friend)Lost the recipe and have tried to find it everywhere for the last several years. SO glad you posted !!! This is THE Best marinade!!!!!!!!!!!!
