  1. Cream butter and sugar until fluffy.
  2. Add egg, crystalized ginger and molasses and beat well.
  3. Combine flour, spices, salt and soda; add to creamed mixture until blended.
  4. Refrigerate dough for about 30-60 minutes.
  5. Preheat oven to 325 degrees.
  6. Shape dough into small balls and roll in sugar.
  7. Bake for 13 minutes; remove promptly to rack to cool.
