This recipe brought back many memories for me. I put in 2 cups of water instead of the 1/4 cup because the "pot liquor" is really good for fighting off colds. I didn't use pepper at all and it was tasty enough for my pepper-averse family members. This was my first time using turkey wings and I now prefer this to bacon or fatback. I also left out the sugar as this was not necessary for my taste. So, this recipe can taste amazing and be sugar-free. I will be making this many times this winter.
