We loved em! The only problem is, even 5 mins steaming is not enough time. It was very crunchy so we had to cook them ALOT longer. Maybe it was something I did wrong, but in any case they were great!

Loved these slightly sweet and sour beans. We cooked them longer, as well, to suit our tastes better.

Years ago we had a Barbeque Restaurant who served beans like these and I could never quite duplicate the balance the flavors. This recipe is just perfect and works well with turkey bacon. Thank you Happy Val for sharing the recipe.

This was wonderful! I made it for a potluck at work, and acouple of people raised eyebrows at the ingredients. The sugar & vinegar combo surprised them. I got nothing but raves for it.

Thanks Val. These were really tasty. I did not alter the recipe at all. I really struggle to get my BH to eat any green vegetables, he really enjoyed his beans like this - a big compliment indeed.

No wonder your HappyVal , the beans were great and not time consuming.I think tho next time I'll use 2 tbsp of vinegar for a little more contrast. Very good way to prepare green beans.
