Southern Coated Pecans

"A very old recipe which I might have found in a Junior League cookbook. Sweet with cinnamon and vanilla but not overpowering so you can still taste the pecans. They're very quick to make and nice to include in gift baskets. This is a simple candy recipe that's much more forgiving than most. Total cooking time is about 15 minutes."

  1. These are great just like my moms recipe but she was missing the instructions. I was searching a long time for it. Everyone else had egg whites! Only thing I did different is I toasted the pecans for about 10min. Makes them more crunchy.

  2. UPDATE: I have also had good results using a fancy nut mix. ORIGINAL REVIEW: I just finished making these about 5 minutes ago for a (very) late night dessert snack. They are delicious. I also decreased the salt to 1/2 teaspoon as another reviewer did. I put them over some vanilla bean ice cream while they were still warm. Sooooo good. And really the perfect amount of sweet. Thank you for posting such an awesome and easy recipe!!

  4. Loved these. I found an 8 ounce bag of pecans in my cupboard so decided to make these. I cut the recipe in half and only used 1/4 teaspoon of salt. Made for some great tasting pecans.

  5. Absolutely delicious. Followed the recipe exactly. These are a perfect topping on a spinach, feta cheese and dried cranberry salad. My DH and DIL adore these. Thanks for sharing.
