I have never tried making homemade BBQ sauce. We always get the bottled stuff. This was excellent and I don't think I will be using store-bought BBQ sauce again. Great tangy flavor. Thanks RecipeFairy.

The exact words from our toughest critic our DD were: “It is EXTREMELY good, you should Definitely make this again”! If our sometimes very picky teenager loves it then it’s got to be an Excellent recipe, thanks Recipe Fairy! She’s been wanting barbecued pork sandwiches for awhile, I really didn’t want to used bottled barbecue sauce, and this fit the bill perfectly. I used leftover ribs that I’d done on the grill that were kind of tough to start with, but you see above the end result, thank-you! This was Very easy to make, I love recipes from scratch that are so easy and so good.
I did substitute olive oil for the butter because I’m trying to cook healthy to lower my husband’s cholesterol, also added some black pepper, and I didn’t have dry mustard so I used regular mustard.

This is a quick recipe that I make up when I want to have it as a barbecue sauce and dipping sauce after I have grilled my meat. I don't use fresh celery or onion in mine but celery seed and onion salt so that the barbecue isn't chunky. You can do either. This sauce has wonderful flavor. To add a change you can add a little of hot sauce to it or liquid smoke. Very much enjoyed!
