i like to add a bit more sugar than called for. They also freeze well for make ahead preparation. Just thaw on cookie sheets while oven preheats then bake as usual.

i have been making these for months and my family loves them. i made them for a party and they were a huge hit. i use a bit more sugar than called for (only about 1/4 c) and always go a little over 1 c pecans. such a great recipe, though- thanks for sharing!

Lovely, lovely, lovely cookie. Very simple to make, too! One of the best cookies I've ever tasted. I had some leftover ground pecans and mixed those into the dough (less than 1/3 C). That addition definitely made a flavor impact. Baking temp/time was right on, and they sliced cleanly into nice rounds without crumbling.
