- 1 cup active starter
- 1 large egg
- 2 tablespoons cooking oil
- 1⁄4 cup instant milk or 1⁄4 cup evaporated milk
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- Mix ingredients together and let the mixture bubble and foam a minute or two, then drop on hot griddle in large spoonfuls.
YUM! my first experience with sourdough pancakes... i'm still building up my starter and i have quite a bit of it that's not ready to be used in bread-i'm so happy i found a way to use it! these were absolutely perfect. thanks!
Really good! I love the tender texture. I cut the sugar (I prefer lots of maple syrup on top) and the salt by half. A great excuse to revive "the critter" (our sourdough starter).
I substituted 1/4 cup instant milk with 1/4 cup rice milk and 1/4 cup flour. It was great but too salty, so next time I'll reduce the salt to 1/4 tsp. Yummy!
