      Our greyhound just loves these. I used some of my new sourdough starter and they turned out great. I didn't quite have enough starter so added water to make up the difference. The dough was easy to form and cut into dog biscuits.

      FIVE STARS!!! FOUR PAWS UP!!! Cooper LOVES these things! After her brother passed away, my pup seemed to be depressed, wouldn't eat her milk bones, ... I decided to try these and she actually sat BY THE OVEN DOOR as they were cooking! Thanks, Donna!!! ...and a big, warm welcome "WOOF!!" from Coop!

      Mainly I want to use my sourdough starter, so I doubled the recipe, use 1 cup of mashed or chopped carrots, peas and corn, but only 4 to 4.5 cups (instead double) of flour and about 1 TBS oil extra. I roll the dough directly on the baking sheets and cut in squares, bake at 400 F for 15 min/side, leave them in open/cardboard container to dry. I'm not worried about WI Cheesehead's concern: I give my dogs with vet approval Brewers Yeast. And you don't feed them a pound of biscuits every day, only one or two: it's baked and not raw yeast. My dogs and other test dogs go absolutly crazy about them!!!! Love it! Thanks!

      According to the Human Society, yeast dough (so I assume it's the yeast) is potentially dangerous to dogs. See forum topic: http://www.recipezaar.com/bb/viewtopic.zsp?t=286716 So I would assume sourdough starter (which has yeast) would not be good. I just found this out myself, so wanted to let you know.

      I had just finished putting down my pumpkins and feeding my sourdough when I came across your recipe!!! I have made them 4 times this week. We have 2 dogs and the neighbours have 4, so they are just loving them! I usually make my own dog cookies, but a completely different kind of recipe. Yours is just wonderful. Thank you for sharing!
