  • Sift together flour, soda, and salt.
  • Combine in a large bowl the butter, sugar, egg, and flavoring. Beat for 2 minutes. Add aour cream and then the flour mizture gradually.
  • Set oven 400 degrees to preheat.
  • Roll on lightly floured surface to 1/4 inch thickness. Sprinkle with sugar and roll in lightly.
  • Cut with floured cutters and place on cookie sheet. Bake for about 12 minutes until golden brown.
  • Another way to make is too not sprinkle with sugar and put different colored frostings on top.

  1. I don't bake much but decided to give these a try. I followed the recipe as written other then I didn't add the nutmeg as I didn't have any. Everyone enjoyed these. Made for Fall PAC 2008.
     
  2. I made these delicious cookies for Valentine's Day and everyone loved them!! Soft and flavourful, I omitted the nutmeg, DD does not like it! Will definitely make these again. All you need is frosting ( I used a butter cream) and a few sprinkles and you can decorate these for any event or holiday!

I live in an RV and am traveling on the road with my family. Daddy is a travel welder and we go where the work is. The girls love to eat home cooked meals. I am a stay at home mom. I think that my favorite cookbook would be to call my mom and ask her for a recipe. She can cook, and create all kinds of recipes off the top of her head and all with leftovers.
