I used a 16 oz. jar of salsa and didn't need to thicken-I also added a drained can of black beans and served over rice-great!!
I tried this recipe when I was looking for something to make so I wouldn't have to go to the store! The family really liked it and it will be a keeper. The only thing I will change next time is to either cut back on the corn starch a little or add some more liquid - it got pretty thick but other than that the flavor was really good..
This is excellent! Low fat, low calories, low carb, high taste and flavor, plus EASY! I followed the simple recipe, then at the end I added a can of black beans and a cup of corn when thickening the sauce. I also shredded the chicken and we ate it rolled into tortillas. Thank you!
This recipe has been a family favorite for 15+ years. It is very versatile, meaning you can serve it over rice, or as chicken tacos. We like it with black beans and rice, but sometimes fat free refried beans for something different. If you leave out the sour cream and serve the sour cream on the side, it's just as good.
This is absolutely delicious. My sauce was too thick but that's because I forgot the water. I also used thighs but I'm sure it would be just as wonderful with breasts. And so easy.
This was simple and tasty. Thanks!
The flavours were good in this dish, though it took a while for the sauce to thicken in the crockpot. It would have been much faster in a small saucepan. Also, the chicken was quite dry - maybe a fattier cut would have worked better.
This is delicious. A bit spicy, so I added a brick of 1/3 less fat cream cheese and 1/4 c. brown sugar, and then 1/4 c. sour cream for that tangy touch. I did not add the corn starch. My daughter who is a gourmet cook was visiting and she dubed it as "awesome." It's definitely one I'll do again and will take to church dinners.
Nice and easy to prepare. Mine only took about 2 hours to cook, but my crock pot is very hot. Wasn't too spicy for my toddler. next time I'll skip the cornstarch.
This is one of my "go to" recipes. I use 1/2 cup sour cream, but otherwise my recipe is exactly the same. Thanks for posting!
