This is the reason I joined Recipezaar! I made this last week for my boyfriend's birthday and everyone was just blown away. Wonderful, rich and soooo decadent. Love it!
Oh yeah! Rich, yummy and delightful for anyone who loves chocolate and coffee! (I used the coffee liquor option instead of rum). I found the frosting almost too rich, DH and ladies at my get- together thought it was perfect! made for fall 2012 PAC
This is an intensely rich cake. I love the sour cream/baking soda trick. The frosting, for me, was too heavy...RICH. Next time I will lighten it up a bit.
I hijacked the rum frosting in this recipe for a zucchini chocolate cake. The frosting is amazing. I used three generous tablespoons at rum, and at first found it overwhelming, but after a few hours the frosting mellowed and it was just perfect. I look forward to an opportunity to try it with this cake as well.
