I was desperately searching for a good substitute for sour cream, but I didn't just didn't have the ingredients for it. With some good luck and extensive research, I came up with this variation which I think is, close enough to the 'real deal'.


  1. Let the cheese soften at room temperature. Mix it with the milk and lemon juice. Serve it with your favourite food.
  2. *For lighter version you can use skim milk and low-fat cream-cheese.
  3. *If you can lessen or change the lemon juice with white distilled vinegar to taste, if found too sour.
