Soft Scrubber

"This recipe is for a "soft scrub" which not only cleans wonderfully will also help soften your hands. Personally I used Dr. Bronner's Lavender Castile Soap so I did not add the essential oil. Besides smelling great (and being calming) lavender has natural antibiotic, antifungal, antiviral, and antibacterial properties. If you do not like the scent of lavender, lemon, tea tree (oil), and thyme also are natural antibiotic, antifungal, antiviral and antibacterials as well, so they make good alternatives. I found this recipe in Naturally Clean Home by Karen Siegel-Maier."

directions

  • Combine baking soda, milk, castile soap, and lavender together.
  • Add just enough water to make a smooth paste.
  • Shake or stir to mix.
  • ***Updated to list corn starch as an alternative to the powdered milk. Over time the powdered milk will brown, but corn starch isn't as softening as the milk powder.

I'm a stay at home mom with a young daughter. I'm looking for small portion meals usually for our lunch. Since DH and I both love desserts and hate waste, I keep an eye out for smaller sized dessert recipes. Since my husband enjoys cooking, he typically handles the evening meal. We are trying to eat healthier, so less prepared mixes, and canned soups, and more things from scratch.
